Who we are
PSE Engineering Solutions Inc. is an engineering practice providing structural design services to architects, contractors, developers. We have been also sub-contracting for other engineering firms on unique assignements involving FEM analysis. We focus on safe and practical solutions that balance durability and cost-effectiveness.
Our Project Experience
Our portfolio spans small exhibit structures, renovations and additions, and projects up to 65‑storey high‑rise buildings across a full spectrum of building types: office, retail, mixed‑use, hotel, residential, educational, and institutional.
Principal Experience
Bogdan Podgorniak, P.Eng., S.E. has been directly involved in design of multiple landmark structures in several countries on four continents, including designs of pedestrian bridges in Toronto, Las Vegas, and Singapore. As with many design programs, some project concepts were not built; others serve as straightforward civil connections between points A and B, while several have become notable landmarks of architecture and engineering. For example, the Changi Bridge in Singapore was described by its architect as one of the longest pedestrian bridges of its type and features an unusually slender arch with a high span‑to‑depth ratio.
Our Service Domains
- Buildings: residential, office, hotel, retail, industrial, long‑span sports facilities (gymnasiums, swimming pools)
- Bridges: pedestrian, highway, timber, heritage
- Industrial structures: storage racks, catwalks, production supports, modular construction
- Cranes: design of supports hosting cranes, re-design of existing buildings to accomodate crane loading, upgrade of buildings to accomodate larger cranes
- Special structures: retaining walls, underground structures subjected to hydrostatic and traffic loads (Cooper); highway bridge abutments; slabs‑on‑grade; shell systems on elastic media; sub‑ and super‑structures for automated parking facilities
- Dynamic analysis: vibration of floors, pedestrian bridges, rotating and reciprocating machinery foundations, lifting equipment
- Advanced analysis: plastic, elasto‑plastic, dynamic, global buckling analysis
- Foundation design: machinery, lifting equipment
- Seismic design: assesments, upgrades, design using equivalent static, response-spectrum methods per NBC, OBC, IBC, UBC, UBC-97
- Value engineering: project optimization and modification
- Assement: assessment of existing structures for conformance with building code
